Why move to St Louis?

As Alann and I celebrate our one year anniversary of living in the St Louis area, I thought I would talk a bit about why someone may choose to live here.
Some good reasons to move to MO:
The land is gorgeous. It is very green and lush. The landscape is greatly varied- flat lands, rolling hills, lakes and rivers. We've got something for everyone.
You can live in any kind of built environment you choose- an isolated farm or downtown St Louis- all within just a few miles.
There are lots of activities to enjoy outdoors- fishing, hunting, lounging on the lake or river, camping, hiking.
There are tons of cultural activities to enjoy as well- a fabulous zoo, lots of museums, a wonderful children's museum, Busch Stadium for Cardinals' games, and lovely parks. There are lots of historical buildings to visit and appreciate. If you are into wine, there is some beautiful wine country around St Louis.
Speaking of sports- there are 5 major sports teams in MO, as well as some good college teams to follow. Mizzou (the University of Missouri in Columbia) is quite popular in St Louis.
You can enjoy all four seasons, and each is unique. Winter is cold and snowy; sledding and snowman building are quite popular with the youth. Spring is often tumultuous, with spectacular thunderstorms. Yes, tornadoes are common across the state, but less common in and around St Louis. The summers are hot and humid, but not too hot or too humid. And the evenings and nights often cool down. And fall, which we are experiencing now, is a great season as well. The air is crisp and clean. The leaves change to beautiful colors and the kids have lots of fun making piles to jump into. The days recently have been in the 70s with nice cool nights.
